Anyone know about Yahoo Web Hosting for small business?

Have you used Yahoo%26#039;s Web Hosting for small business? Can you give my your experience with them. The good and the bad? Fair prices? Good service? etc... Thank you
Anyone know about Yahoo Web Hosting for small business?
Yahoo hosting isn%26#039;t too bad but as the others have said, there are certainly some limitations depending on what exactly you want to do. Their prices are pretty comparable to others from what I%26#039;ve seen. They%26#039;re probably a good option if you don%26#039;t need too much control over the server and just want to have an easy, reliable place to host your business site.

If you want to explore some other options for business hosting, you might want to check ou this site. You can find good breakdown of various business web hosting solutions. It helped me out alot:

Hope that helps and that you find a web host that meets your needs.
Anyone know about Yahoo Web Hosting for small business?
i am a professional web developer and illustrator and have never considered AOL or Yahoo web hosting. I need a lot of control over the servers and databases, and need the ability to customize a lot of the features, which AOL and Yahoo generally don%26#039;t give you.

If you%26#039;re going to be selling things on your site through Yahoo Stores, then Yahoo is proabably a good choice. You may want to hear from other people who do have experience hosting with them though.

if you want design and technical advice, I can provide that.
Reply:They can be a problem. For example, they restrict usage of the php mail() function - this can be a problem for simple %26quot;contact us%26quot; forms.

Web hosting for small business?
Basically, what you want to look for here is important %26quot;technical%26quot; features, and not be sold on a lot of glitzy gimmicks.

Number One is that there must be an easy, reliable, and SECURE method of backing up your data and transferring your files...

1) Does the host allow you to configure a direct connection between your IP address and that of the server (essential for using software like SQLYog to backup your database). If not, then at the very least, there should be PHPMyAdmin for a browser-based way to import and export data, though that%26#039;s a less-than-ideal way to do backups.

2) Does the host come with popular, powerful, STABLE open-source software that you can choose to auto-install via a script instead of having to plow through a bunch of software manuals and upload all those files? Examples... PHPList (for the mailing list), PHPBB2 (for online customer support, discussion forums, etc), Zen-Cart (a shopping cart), and a content management system for your regular web pages (Joomla, Drupal, WordPress, etc)

3) Do you get a complete suite of email tools, including auto-responders, a default domain-wide address, spam-filtering (SpamAssassin), white-list filtering, etc)

4) Do they give you a reasonably large quantity of parked domains that you can install yourself via a web control panel? So you can have, say, shop.example.com and support.example.com and info.example.com -- these are critical when you want to analyze where your web traffic is going.

5) Do they give you web statistics analysis tools like Webalizer and/or AWStats?

6) Last but not least, do they offer interactive online classes and tutoring instead of just leaving you to read a bunch of web pages and figure things out for yourself?

Odds are you%26#039;ll be hard-pressed to find ONE host that will give you all of the above. But now you%26#039;ve got a ruler to measure what you%26#039;re getting. And yeah, I know of one or two that meets those requirements, but I%26#039;m not going to mention them here because I don%26#039;t want this Answer to be an advertisement.

Will YAHOO accept online Bank Transfer payment instead of Master Card or Visa Card for Small Business Web?

Hosting?
Will YAHOO accept online Bank Transfer payment instead of Master Card or Visa Card for Small Business Web?
I don%26#039;t think so. Yahoo currently offers only credit card as payment as of this point. This is actually the norm of most web site hosting services so don%26#039;t be surprised.

Can't access web site hosted by Yahoo Small Business, Can I Sue them?

I have been calling both verizon and yahoo for nearly 2 weeks, with no results. A yahoo tech told me the problem was verizon needs to unmerge my site from verizon. Verizon won%26#039;t assist me at all, they just hang up on me. Yahoo keeps sending me the same answer which requires me to log on that does not work. I am up to date on bill payments etc. but Yahoo web hosting will not help me. Just wondering if I have a case to sue them. I am paying for a service that I am not being allowed to access? I really do need to make some changes to the site but my site builder will no longer sign on correctly. The Verizon transfer program does not function at all. I have spoke to a dozen different techs and keep getting the run around. What should I do to get some real results?

It sounds like Verizon is your problem. I have a Yahoo Small Business account, and I%26#039;ve never had a problem with it.

Can someone help me with some web hosting information for a small business? Which is best for me?

I%26#039;m opening a baked goods delivery business in my town. It is a small area with only two other towns that are close that I will deliver to so first off I don%26#039;t need for people to be able to search me out on the net. The other things I need are the ability to put in an order form and a view my cart area. I also want customers to have the ability to pay at the site using Paypal. I%26#039;d love to have a very low cost or no cost web hosting site that is simple to use since my needs are few. Thanks for your help in advance.
